A St. Patrick's Day Tradition
Here in Chicago, St. Patrick's Day isn't all about the corned beef and cabbage…
One of the most beloved traditions in Chicago is the dyeing of the Chicago River during the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. If you haven't experienced this wonder, it's truly a sight to behold! The Chicago Journeyman Plumbers use a special dye that temporarily turns the River an almost impossible shade of vibrant green.
This tradition goes back more than 40 years, and it's a favorite for many Chicagoans. Last year's Parade drew a crowd of close to 1 million people. You know what they say, on St. Patrick's Day, we're all Irish!
The 2015 St. Patrick's Day Parade is on Saturday, March 13th. If you're in Chicago, don't miss out!
