Made famous by Portillo's, Italian beef is slow-roasted for four hours, then thinly sliced and traditionally served piled into French bread, dipped in homemade gravy and topped with sweet peppers or hot giardiniera. In the mash up of all mash ups, we've added it to a deep dish pizza!
Say it with us... “jar-din-air-ah!” Hot giardiniera is a mix of veggies including peppers, cauliflower, carrots, and celery that are pickled in oil. This condiment is delicious on anything from Italian beef sandwiches to deep dish pizza!

About Lou Malnati's
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor. Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940s working in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria. In 1971, Lou took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, where he and his wife Jean opened the original Lou Malnati's Pizzeria...and the rest is history! About Portillo's
In 1963, Dick Portillo invested $1,100 into a small trailer to open the first Portillo's hot dog stand in Villa Park, IL, which he called “The Dog House.” Years later, Portillo's has grown to include more than 70 restaurants across 9 states. Portillo's is best known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads and famous chocolate cake.
