Accessibility Statement for Lou Malnati's and Tastes of Chicago
Lou Malnati's and Tastes of Chicago are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act 1998.
What we did
To help us make the website a positive experience for everyone, we've been referring to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, more compatible with assistive technology, and more user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the website.
How we did it
We have reviewed our website and determined that remediating our website will allow us to provide an accessible digital experience most quickly. We hired 3rd party professionals to help us achieve our goal of WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility on the site by August 2022.
During the remediation process we will address the areas of our current website that did not confirm to the Level AA accessibility standard.
The following pages/documents included in the scope of work are representative of the pages on the website:
- Quick View
- Product Details Template
- Gift Cards
- About Us
- Payment Info
The remediation process includes several rounds of manual and automated testing on Windows and Macintosh computers, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices using NVDA, JAWs, or Voiceover, as appropriate.
Statement of Exclusion
There are some areas of our website, provided by 3rd party vendors, that we have learned may not be accessible or usable by everyone equally. We understand that all areas must comply with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, and we will update those areas as soon as possible. Third parties that need to be updated are:
- Yotpo Reviews
- Custom Code Widgets
We will monitor the website regularly to maintain our ongoing commitment to delivering a site that is accessible to the largest possible audience. If you have any concerns about the usability of our site or find a feature that is inaccessible, please contact us using the information below. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these requests.
