I have ordered from Lou's before and was so satisfied that I decided to place another order. The order was to be a Valentine's Day present for my husband. After placing the order and choosing my delivery date, I was notified that my delivery could not be made on the date chosen due to weather. I was okay with this delay because the package had yet to be sent to UPS. I was sent an email on the ship date stating that UPS had received my package, but then was sent another email stating a second delay. I was very worried about the quality of my food since it is perishable. My Valentine's present ended up being a week late. :(

Nice but could be nicer
It's a good variety pack. The pizzas are outstanding as expected. The dogs and buns were great too, but the condiments could have been better packaged. The sports peppers and relish come in plain vacuum packed plastic instead of resealable jars. But I'm being really nitpicky. Still, it might not be worth the price for you.
2 days late
My parents received the package 2 days late and refused it as they were afraid the food would be warm. I paid additional to get it there by Christmas Eve

My order was not delivered to my sister on Christmas Eve like I paid for and didn't arrive until the day after Christmas and the dry ice was gone so wasn't as fresh.

Stale Buns
The hot dogs and fixings were great but there was an opening in the package the buns came in so they were crusty and stale.

I absolutely loved our kit. My wife is originally from Schaumburg, right down the street from Lou's and a Portillo's not much farther. We adored our kit, and it tasted extremely fresh, being that it was in dry ice. Would buy again!

Ten hot dog pack, a spinach pizza and a cheese pizza. What a wonderful treat after being away from home for quite some time! It came on time, it was packed very well (I was able to get individual hot dogs out as I pleased), and everything was DELICIOUS!. No complaints, it was wonderful!

Everything arrived as described except the package of buns was open and slightly stale. Bought as a surprise for husband who misses Chicago from time to time. Ordered for Super Bowl party. Once the buns were steamed they didn't seem to mind that they were stale. I declined to eat, didn't know when or where they had be opened. overall good.

This Taste of Chicago went out to my friends in our Oregon office who take turns making lunch for each other once a week. They loved the authentic tastes and they told me prep was a snap.
Delivered on Time - Good Food
I sent 2 pizzas and 10 hot dogs. I was SO EXCITED - it's really fun to select and plan an awesome surprise. The person on the phone was so blase, I was embarrassed about being so excited. I was an awesome candidate for upsale - I even asked about popcorn, only to be told that you can't send popcorn with pizza because the pizza is frozen and the popcorn does not freeze. Oh, well. But you didn't try to sell me anything else! Also, I wish you sent a postcard or notification to the recipient, instead of telling me I'd better let them know so there's someone there to receive it. It makes me look like I'm fishing for gratitude, "Hi, I'm sending you a surprise present on Thursday." sounds WEIRD. It would have been much better coming from Lou's: Greetings, a friend sent you a delicious, perishable present that will be arriving on Thursday. Why four stars? Because Lou's pizza and Vienna dogs are the best... and the recipients were thrilled. Thanks.

The best pizza we ever had. Hot dogs were good, too. We were afraid that the package would not arrive in time due to the holidays. However, it was shipped by next day air; we received it one day earlier. Thank you so much for the great service.

Food was great. My only issue was that the tracking number didn't show anything about it getting shipped until the day I actually got it. That was making me really worried! Food itself was amazing though.

we order the hot dog kit every year for fourth of july (and were sent it as a christmas gift one year :) ). this year we added a couple pizzas, since we had plans with friends. one friend doesn't eat gluten, so i got a crustless pizza; i was surprised that it was sausage (i'd assumed it would be cheese). it was delicious, obvs! and i probably just didn't read fine print carefully enough. just, be aware: crustless (sometimes, at least) = sausage! :)
