This Portillo's Italian Beef Kit is packed with:

This sandwich kit makes 16 half sandwiches

  • 2.5 lbs (1 bag) of Portillo's famous Italian beef
  • 2 (1-qt bags) of Portillo's signature gravy
  • French bread rolls (16)
  • Oven roasted sweet peppers (8 oz bag)
  • Hot giardiniera (16 oz jar)
Stove top heating instructions
  1. Place entire contents of gravy packets in large sauce pan.
  2. Heat until it reaches 180°.DO NOT BOIL. This takes about 20 minutes.
  3. Open beef pack and separate slices. This creates a more flavorful and tender sandwich.
  4. Add enough slices for 2-3 sandwiches at a time and heat for about 1 minute. Add beef in small increments as needed.
  5. Take temperature of gravy while heating beef. The temperature should stay between 165° and 180° for best results.
French Bread:
  • Place rolls on cookie pan 2" apart and bake at 450° for 5 minutes.
Microwave heating instructions
  1. Place entire contents of gravy bucket in microwave safe bowl and heat for 5 minutes. This includes any solids or spices.
  2. Stir contents and then heat for another 4 minutes while separating the beef slices. The temperature should be 180°. DO NOT BOIL.
  3. Take bowl out of microwave and add enough beef for 2-3 sandwiches and stir in for about a minute. Take temperature as you add beef.
  4. If the temperature falls below 165° remove beef, return to microwave and reheat for 2 minutes.
    5. Food Safety Caution: The beef and gravy in this package must be at 40° or colder upon receiving it.

    Christmas treats from Chicago

    This year I sent friends and relatives around the country Italian beef sandwich “kits” and 2 Lou Malnati’s pizzas! They all thoroughly enjoyed them. It was a gift that sent some of the best of Chicago to those I love! Perfect!

    Portillos Beef can not be surpassed. even in Colorado, none can beat it.

    Portillos beef is always great, but i am not over whelmed with the pizza crust. i followed directions to a T, but the crust still was hard chewing.

    portillos A+ Lou Malnatis F

    I purchased the lou malnatis and portillos combo, Portillos was awesome, their italian beef set up, however Lous pizza, we got sausage was VERY disappointing. small pizza, two of us ate one and werent even stuffed, The pizza had very little cheese and was very thin for deep dish, this wasnt deep dish, i have purchased this stuff for years and grew up with it, this Lou Malnatis was terrible. I wont be purchasing Lous , Portillos on the other had was amazing!

    I’ve ordered the pizza/ Italian beef kit many times and have always been very pleased. Being born and reared in Chicago area, I do miss these yummy foods.

    I love the food and

    I love the food and love giving for gifts but I was trying to order 3 different gifts to separate recipients and billed to me. Very difficult to place order. I ended up having to order each individually. I think you need to work on you website and make ordering items more user friendly
