This Portillo's Italian Beef Kit is packed with:

This sandwich kit makes 16 half sandwiches

  • 2.5 lbs (1 bag) of Portillo's famous Italian beef
  • 2 (1-qt bags) of Portillo's signature gravy
  • French half-sized bread rolls (mini / individual portions - 16 count)
  • Oven roasted sweet peppers (8 oz bag)
  • Hot giardiniera (16 oz jar)
Stove top heating instructions
  1. Place entire contents of gravy packets in large sauce pan.
  2. Heat until it reaches 180°.DO NOT BOIL. This takes about 20 minutes.
  3. Open beef pack and separate slices. This creates a more flavorful and tender sandwich.
  4. Add enough slices for 2-3 sandwiches at a time and heat for about 1 minute. Add beef in small increments as needed.
  5. Take temperature of gravy while heating beef. The temperature should stay between 165° and 180° for best results.
French Bread:
  • Place rolls on cookie pan 2" apart and bake at 450° for 5 minutes.
Microwave heating instructions
  1. Place entire contents of gravy bucket in microwave safe bowl and heat for 5 minutes. This includes any solids or spices.
  2. Stir contents and then heat for another 4 minutes while separating the beef slices. The temperature should be 180°. DO NOT BOIL.
  3. Take bowl out of microwave and add enough beef for 2-3 sandwiches and stir in for about a minute. Take temperature as you add beef.
  4. If the temperature falls below 165° remove beef, return to microwave and reheat for 2 minutes.
    5. Food Safety Caution: The beef and gravy in this package must be at 40° or colder upon receiving it.

    Italian beef

    This was real authentic delicious ! Miss it so much ! Gravy dripped on to products , wish could have came back for more

    Italian Beef Kit

    The beef was so tuff and thick that we had to take it off the bun and just eat the bun with the au jus. We were very disappointed as we love to order from here twice a year. On our prior order one pizza was perfect and the other one had about 3 times the cheese and you just had to chew and chew to swallow it. That was very disappointing. All of our many previous orders had been perfect. Don't know what has changed.

    We love portillos and Lou malnati's so it's awesome to have it delivered right to our front door. We go to Chicago as often as we can but we've been enjoying it from home.

    Its the Beef!

    The real hero of this combo is the Protillo's Italian Beef Kit. Just perfect. Everything arrived as promised and all directions were spot on. My wife and I both thought it was like being back in Chicago at Portillo's. The key for us was the bread. Getting to bake at home real made it a great experience.
