Spotlight on: Manny's Deli
Perfectly seasoned corned beef, piled sky high between two slices of rye bread, spread with spicy horseradish mustard.
Sounds downright delicious, right? Manny's famous corned beef sandwich, along with other classic Jewish delicacies, have made their restaurant on Jefferson Street a Chicago destination that can't be missed!
Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen has been a Chicago institution since 1942. Their history can be traced back to Jack Raskin, who opened his first deli just after World War II, and named it "Manny's" after his son. Manny went on to run the deli after his father, and he passed the business along to his son Ken, who is now running the deli with his son Dan. As you can see, the Raskins are keeping it in the family!
The Raskins continue to use the same old family recipes and traditions that put Manny's on the map, and you'll never walk away from a meal at Manny's Deli still feeling hungry – as they like to say, their food is served up quickly and in large portions.
