This Portillo's Italian Beef Kit is packed with:

This sandwich kit makes 16 half sandwiches

  • 2.5 lbs (1 bag) of Portillo's famous Italian beef
  • 2 (1-qt bags) of Portillo's signature gravy
  • French bread rolls (16)
  • Oven roasted sweet peppers (8 oz bag)
  • Hot giardiniera (16 oz jar)

Stove top heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy packets in large sauce pan.
• Heat until it reaches 180°.DO NOT BOIL. This takes about 20 minutes.
• Open Italian beef pack and separate beef slices. This creates a more flavorful and tender beef sandwich.
• Add enough Italian beef slices for 2-3 sandwiches at a time and heat for about 1 minute. Add beef in small increments as needed.
• Take temperature of gravy while heating Italian beef. The temperature should stay between 165° and 180° for best results.


French Bread:
• Place rolls on cookie pan 2" apart and bake at 450° for 5 minutes.

Microwave heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy bucket in microwave safe bowl and heat for 5 minutes. This includes any solids or spices.
• Stir contents and then heat for another 4 minutes while separating the Italian beef slices. The temperature should be 180°. DO NOT BOIL.
• Take bowl out of microwave and add enough beef for 2-3 sandwiches and stir in for about a minute. Take temperature as you add beef.
• If the temperature falls below 165° remove beef, return to microwave and reheat for 2 minutes.
Food Safety Caution: The beef and gravy in this package must be at 40° or colder upon receiving it.

    This is good for our grandkids treat for Christmas when they visit.

    We love the Italian Beef ourselves - and we live in San Antonio. The grandkids love it too and they live in Seattle. AND we do give our very best friends a once a year treat of Italian Beef. It is always yummy and we are waiting to share. Thank you.

    Delivery

    I have ordered for years for relative for delivery near Christmas for them to enjoy for their Christmas meal. This year even with a requested delivery date a few days before Christmas, order was delivered weeks before Christmas. With limited freezer space they could not freeze until the holiday and had to eat early. I called customer service (and after waiting on hold for over 30 minutes) spoke to someone and explained the above and received no explanation or satisfaction. So disappointing
