This Portillo's Italian Beef Kit is packed with:

This sandwich kit makes 16 half sandwiches

  • 2.5 lbs (1 bag) of Portillo's famous Italian beef
  • 2 (1-qt bags) of Portillo's signature gravy
  • French bread rolls (16)
  • Oven roasted sweet peppers (8 oz bag)
  • Hot giardiniera (16 oz jar)

Stove top heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy packets in large sauce pan.
• Heat until it reaches 180°.DO NOT BOIL. This takes about 20 minutes.
• Open Italian beef pack and separate beef slices. This creates a more flavorful and tender beef sandwich.
• Add enough Italian beef slices for 2-3 sandwiches at a time and heat for about 1 minute. Add beef in small increments as needed.
• Take temperature of gravy while heating Italian beef. The temperature should stay between 165° and 180° for best results.


French Bread:
• Place rolls on cookie pan 2" apart and bake at 450° for 5 minutes.

Microwave heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy bucket in microwave safe bowl and heat for 5 minutes. This includes any solids or spices.
• Stir contents and then heat for another 4 minutes while separating the Italian beef slices. The temperature should be 180°. DO NOT BOIL.
• Take bowl out of microwave and add enough beef for 2-3 sandwiches and stir in for about a minute. Take temperature as you add beef.
• If the temperature falls below 165° remove beef, return to microwave and reheat for 2 minutes.
Food Safety Caution: The beef and gravy in this package must be at 40° or colder upon receiving it.

    Disappointing

    We've been fans of Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches for a long time, and looked forward to enjoying them again. However, the quality of the beef in our order was very disappointing. It was fatty, full of gristle, and reminded us of low-quality fast food chain meat. The gravy, bread, and peppers were all good, but the beef was not up to their usual standards.

    Portillios Italian Beef with all the fixings was my choice for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous!!!

    Loved it! A1 customer service!

    The weather delayed delivery but customer service was really understanding and made sure I was taken care of. When I finally got my shipment I was elated that the meal was well worth the weight. I will definitely be back for more.
